Dr. Lena Hartwood holds a Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of California, Berkeley and writes about unusual biology, animal behavior, and scientific discoveries. She is especially interested in strange adaptations, misunderstood animals, and scientific discoveries that challenge what we thought we knew about life on Earth. Lena believes the best nature stories are not only shocking but also supported by strong evidence. Outside of her work, she enjoys kayaking, collecting field guides, gardening, and taking long walks in wooded areas with her camera close at hand.
