Dr. Ethan Wilder

Dr. Ethan Wilder holds a Ecology and Evolutionary Biology degree from UC Berkeley and writes about extreme animal adaptations, unusual survival strategies, and the science behind nature’s strangest claims. His favorite subjects include extreme survival, unusual defenses, predators, and creatures capable of living in places that appear completely uninhabitable. Ethan enjoys digging through scientific research to find out which unbelievable nature claims are true and which have been exaggerated over time. Away from writing, he spends his time hiking, photographing wildlife, visiting natural-history museums, and trying to identify whatever strange insect has appeared in his backyard.
